As the host, you have a simple management page for the memorial. Sign in with the link we email you, open your memorial, and you'll find everything you need to keep the page looking right — without ever having to build anything from scratch.
The three tabs
Memories are organized into three tabs, each with a running count:
- On the page — everything currently visible to visitors.
- Pending — memories waiting for your okay (see below).
- Hidden — memories you've set aside. Nothing is ever deleted; hidden memories can be brought back any time.
How moderation works
Most memories appear on the page immediately — you don't have to approve every loving note. We only hold back the ones worth a second look:
- Invited friends and family post right away. If you invited someone by email, or they arrived through an invitation link, their memory is visible instantly.
- Strangers on a public memorial go to Pending. Someone who found a public page without an invitation has their memory held for your review before it shows.
- Anything that looks off goes to Pending too — a memory with spam-like links or language is set aside automatically, regardless of who sent it.
When something is waiting, you'll get a short email — "1 memory needs your okay" — with a one-tap link straight to the pending queue. You review the few that need it, not every note.
If you'd rather approve everything before it appears, turn on Hold all new memories for approval in your memorial's settings. It's off by default.
Approve, hide, feature, restore
On each memory you'll find quick actions:
- Approve — publish a pending memory to the page.
- Hide — quietly set a memory aside (a duplicate, or something that doesn't belong). It moves to the Hidden tab; the contributor is never notified, and it's never deleted.
- Restore — bring a hidden memory back to the page.
- Feature — see below.
Featuring = adding to the slideshow
Featuring a memory does one specific thing: it adds that memory to the slideshow. The featured set is the slideshow that plays at your gathering. So as memories come in, feature the ones with the best photos and stories, and they'll appear in the slideshow automatically. Un-feature any time to take one back out.
A promise about contributors' words
You choose whether and where a memory appears, but we never silently rewrite what someone wrote. Their words are theirs. If you ever need a light touch — fixing an obvious typo — it stays small and visible, never a rewrite of someone else's grief.
What else is on the management page
From the same place you can invite people and track RSVPs, open the slideshow, download everything, and order the keepsake book. It's the one page you'll come back to as the memories arrive.
