Forget-Me-Not can do more than collect memories — it can invite people to the gathering, collect RSVPs, and show you at a glance who's coming and who's shared a memory. Everything lives on the Share & invite page of your memorial.
The simplest way: share the link
Every memorial has a shareable link and a QR code. Text it, email it, post it in the family group chat, or print an invite card (PDF) to leave on tables. Anyone with the link can view the page and add a memory — no account needed on their end.
Adding people to invite
To send invitations (and track RSVPs), add people to your invite list. You don't have to type them one at a time:
- Paste anything. Drop in a list of names and emails, however they're formatted — a comma-separated list, a column from a spreadsheet, even a pasted email "To:" line. We pull out the addresses and keep the names.
- Upload a CSV. A simple two-column file (name, email) works; we'll match the columns for you.
- Pick from your phone's contacts on supporting mobile browsers.
As you add people, we quietly flag likely typos (a "gmial.com" gets a one-tap fix) and let you know if an address looks undeliverable. You can invite up to 200 people per memorial.
Setting up the gathering
If you're holding a celebration of life, open Manage gathering and add the details: date, time, timezone, venue name and address, and a note ("casual dress — she'd have insisted"). By default these details stay private and live only on a dedicated gathering page you share; a toggle lets you show them on the memorial page too, for anyone who might drop by.
Every gathering gets its own link, and invitations include a calendar attachment (.ics) so guests can add it to their phone in one tap. Edit the details later and the calendar entry updates itself.
Sending invitations
From the tracker you can:
- Send gathering invitations to everyone who hasn't received one — the button tells you how many.
- Send a memory request to invite someone to add their story and photos.
Invitations go out gently and are set to reply to you, the host, so anyone answering reaches the family — not us.
Collecting RSVPs
Guests RSVP right from the invitation or the gathering link: Attending, Unable to attend, or Maybe, plus how many additional guests are coming. They don't need an account, and they can change their answer any time. If they arrived through their invitation, their name and email are already filled in.
The tracker: who's coming, who's shared
The Share & invite page shows a live tracker with, for each person:
- their RSVP and guest count,
- whether they've added a memory,
- their send history — invitation sent, memory request sent, with dates.
At the top you'll see the totals: expected headcount (yeses plus their guests), maybes, and how many people have contributed a memory.
Resending and reminders
Each person has resend buttons. Right after a send, the button shows a checkmark and offers a copy-the-link option instead for about a day — so you can reach out personally by text without us emailing the same person twice in a row.
If your gathering has a date, we'll send one gentle reminder about three days before to invitees who haven't RSVP'd yet. You can turn that off on the gathering settings.
About unsubscribes
Anyone can unsubscribe from an invitation with one tap, and we won't email that address again — for any memorial. It keeps the whole system kind and trustworthy, which is exactly what a grief product should be.
Once people have RSVP'd, their names can appear in a lovely "Those who gathered" page in the keepsake book — a printed guest book of everyone who came.
